How to connect MICROSOFT##SSEE

Problem:

Hello Programms!

Sharepoint services 3 was install with default settings (with SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition (MICROSOFT##SSEE)).

After that i setup SQL Server Management Studio Express.

I cant connect to it DB, because connection to MICROSOFT##SSEE fault:
“…bla..bla..bla…MICROSOFT##SSEE does not allow remote connections…..bla..bla..bla…”

In SQL Server Configuration Manager i turn on everythink: tcp/ip, all clients protocol. Not help.

How to connect MICROSOFT##SSEE with SQL Server Management Studio Express?

Thanks!

Solution:

Open the “SQL server Configuration Manager”, right-click the line “Protocols for MICROSOFT##SSEE” and choose “Properties”. The “hide instance” field is set to “yes”, put “no” instead, validate, and restart the microsoft##ssee service…
SQL Server Configuration Manager –>  SQL Native Client Configuration  —> Aliases  —>  Right click on Alias name:  <servername>\Microsoft##SSEE —>  properties  —>   Change the Alias Name from <servername>\Microsoft##SSEE to <servername>\##SSEE.
 put\\.\pipe\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##SSEE\sql\query

as the server name.

Undo user checkout in tfs

Many ways have been done by me, but nothing for the result. Just only because of a user forgets to check in his working in TFS server, everything getting wrong every updates the file. That user must check in it, but he has been resigned. Try to use his account by asking his password from Visual Studio connects TFS, again failed, also has been used Administrator account.

Must be there is a way to solve this. After searching some thing with key word “tfs undo” in google, finally find the article from msdn which can help me to solve the problem. It is using command prompt utility of Visual Studio. It is a cool command and problem solved.

Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, click Visual Studio Tools, and then click Visual Studio Command Prompt.
Type the following command and replace the arguments with …

Shrink database sql server

This note is just to remind me about shrinking database file to get more free space from database log. Step by step is:

Backup full database and database related
Backup database transaction log
Run code below for checking current database and log size. With this code, we also can get database log name that will be used.

SELECT
–DB_NAME(database_id) AS DatabaseName,
–Physical_Name,
Name AS Logical_Name,
(size*8)/1024 SizeMB
FROM
sys.master_files
WHERE
DB_NAME(database_id) = ‘tempdb’ — database name that will be Shrinked (change)
GO

Run this code for shrinking database:

USE tempdb;
GO
— Truncate the log by changing the database recovery model to SIMPLE.
ALTER DATABASE tempdb
SET RECOVERY SIMPLE WITH NO_WAIT;
GO
— Shrink the truncated log file to 1 MB.
DBCC SHRINKFILE(tempdb_log, 1); –file_name is the logical name of the file to be shrink
GO
— Reset the database recovery model.
ALTER DATABASE tempdb
SET RECOVERY FULL WITH NO_WAIT;
GO
